A tableau of projects from 2013 - 2024, to share the role of graphic design & visual narrative in environment conservation.
Hi! I’m Malvika Tewari, a graphic designer, illustrator and writer based in Gurgaon, India. In my work I try to create more dialogue about the environment and highlight possibilities of conservation at various levels - from the backyard to public policy.
In collaboration with environment lawyers, biologists, social scientists and educators, I use design, storytelling, mapping and illustration to move our collective efforts into the public sphere for informed action.

*The Land Where The Sticker Tree Grows is a storybook for the National Biodiversity Authority of India, housed at Design, Law and Environment Laboratory, Srishti. It reflects the monocultures of urban landscapes and invites the reader to look closer in their cities for signs of environmental degeneration and opportunities to include biodiversity with small changes in lifestyle. The story is told by various characters - a monkey wondering why apples have stickers on them, an old jute bag, a pigeon, a plough and a farmer’s son turned migrant worker.*
